If you’re planning a vacation to Martha’s Vineyard, here’s a guide on where to eat, with or without the kids!
Martha’s Vineyard is a short, easy flight from D.C. The scenery is beautiful, the towns are adorable and the whole island just oozes New England charm. We’ve always stayed in Edgartown as our base so most of my restaurant recommendations are for this town. It’s a small island to navigate, but the summer traffic between towns can be a nuisance. If you’re staying in or near Edgartown, below are some of the best restaurants on Martha’s Vineyard.

Best Restaurants on Martha’s Vineyard
Atlantic, 2 Main St., Edgartown
This restaurant does not take reservations, but it’s worth the wait. If you go at or before 5:30 p.m. or after 8:30 p.m., you typically won’t have much of a wait. And if you’re lucky, they’ll seat you by the water for a gorgeous view. Service here is impeccable. 
Bettini Restaurant, 131 N Water St., Edgartown
Bettini is near the Edgartown lighthouse. Even if you’re hesitant because the restaurant is in the Harbor View Hotel, the breakfast is great as is the bar for cocktails.
Blackbird Cafe, 19 N Water St., Edgartown
If you’re looking for good coffee and breakfast sandwiches, this is a cute little place right in the middle of town.
Ben & Bill’s, 22 Dock St., Edgartown
Another favorite ice cream shop! It’s just across the street from the harbor and serves up homemade, delicious ice cream. The lobster ice cream has chunks of lobster, and my son says it’s delightful. When in New England…
Chesca’s Restaurant, 38 N Water St., Edgartown
Chesca’s is a block back from the harbor. It has a lively atmosphere and a solid menu to please anyone. After dinner here, skip down the block for ice cream at Mad Martha’s.
Espresso Love, 17 Church St., Edgartown
We love coming here for a quick, casual lunch. Everything we’ve tried – sandwiches, wraps, treats – is excellent! And the outdoor courtyard is lovely.
Larsen’s Fish Market, 56 Basin Rd., Chilmark
Chilmark is a tiny harbor town about 20 minutes from Edgartown, well worth the drive. After you’ve explored the town’s cute shops, stop by this fish market for fresh fish and lobster rolls. My personal favorite is the hot lobster roll with butter.
Mad Martha’s Ice Cream, 7 N Water Sts, Edgartown
This is one of the kids’ favorite ice cream places on the island. The selection is huge, everything is fresh and made in house. The flavor of the week is always fun to try.
Morning Glory Farm, 120 Meshacket Rd., Edgartown
As you drive into Edgartown, Morning Glory is worth a stop. It has an excellent bakery with everything baked on the premises, a phenomenal sandwich stand, great produce and a little market with so many delicious things. I can highly recommend the banana bread, the pies and the cheese selection. Also, grab a BLT sandwich!
The Port Hunter, 55 Main St., Edgartown
Excellent food and a perfect spot for a date night. The weather is likely perfect for one the sidewalk tables where you’ll have fun people watching.
